NEWS RELEASE

Ontario Senior Games Association Scores With A $225,000 OTF Grant

Chatham Ontario During a break from the activity at the Chatham Tennis Club on Friday in with the Ontario Senior Games Association (OSGA), it was announced that the Association had received a $225,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).  The OSGA spoke about their plans for the grant, one of which includes hosting the Southwest Regional Games for seniors in Chatham in 2011. Reg Johnson, a volunteer with OTF, presented OSGA’s Past President Bill Lytle and Vice President Peter Hensel with a plaque to celebrate the grant.

imgp1234sm.jpgThe OSGA was established in the early 1980’s, offering a unique program for Ontarians that are 55 years and older, giving them a great opportunity to compete in games, continually keeping them physically, socially and mentally active.   The three-year grant from the Foundation has a province-wide scope and will enable the sports organization to continue building on their operational capacity, provide new training opportunities for volunteers and development opportunities for staff.  The Ontario Senior Games Association has over 40 chapters located across the province.
