OSGA Annual General Meeting 2009

Bill Allen, Chair, Amany Tadros, Games General Manager, Susan Howe and Olga McQuay, Co-chairs Special Events of Actifest 2010 presented an overview of the upcoming Actiffest Games being held in Oshawa, August 2010.

In the General Meeting, the revised Technical Manual was presented, and Rules and Format changes were voted upon.  Under the new procdures for selecting events, 3 new events, Pickleball, Cycling, and Nordic Walking,  were added.   Look for information to be posted on the home page of this website in the near future.  A video of Pickleball was also shown to give delegates a better understanding of the game.

Rules and Format changes for the Summer and Winter Sanctioned Events will be updated on this website shortly.  Look for individual events under Sanctioned Events - Summer and Winter or the entire technical manual under Administration - Tech. Manuals.

The election of the OSGA Board of Directors for 2008-2009 was held.

At the banquet, Monday evening, the Bob Secord Award was presented to two very deserving volunteers.  Check out the Bob Secord Awards page for more information on this award

After dinner, Jade Lister, a delightful singer from Chatham entertained the delegates.

On Tuesday, Petra Halk, representing CAAWS (Canadian Association for the Advancement of Womewn and SPort and Physical Activity) did a presentation titled, Women 55-70: Physical Activity Challenges and Opportunities . This presentation provided delegates with relevant information that will benefit them as they go forward in their planning at the district level.

A Round Table Session, to end the conference,  gave delegates the opportunity to discuss common issues and ask questions

A big thanks to Bruce Symons and Peter Hensel, AGM Committee Co-Chairs, for choosing such a great spot, The Yorkland Hotel, and for organizing a successful meeting.
