In 2007, Mary was nomnated to receive the Senior Achievement award from the Ontario Government in recognition for her many years of service as a volunteer. She was awarded a 25 year Medal on May 25, 2007.
Mary als Unfortunately, Mary passed away in April 2009, before she was able to receive this much deserved recognition by the OSGA and her district. Her son Ron was very pleased to accept the award on behalf of his mother. Mary was indeed a very worthy recipient of the Bob Secord Award.
Ray's skills as an organizer are well known throughou District 7A. He has organized tournaments for 5 pin bowling and shuffleboard. For many years, Ray has submitted articles and photos to area newspapers covering Senior Games events. Some have been reprinted in magazines with larger circulation. His press releases are positive and thorough.
Ray is a quiet man, superb athlete, hard-working with superb organizational skills, self-confidence, integrity and a positive attitude. He is a well valued member of District 7A. o served on the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 569 Long Sault Board for well over 20 years, on the U.S.C.O. (United Senior Citizens of Ontario) Zone 35 for 20 years as secretary, co-founded the Long Sault Friendly Circle - Club 336.
